Beauty

Girls,
We need to stop it. We need to stop with comparing. We need to stop telling ourselves that we're not good enough. We need to stop with the shaming and the gossiping. It's not a race or a contest.
This is life.
We each have our own lives and our own ways of doing things.

Girls are told from a young age that they need to be thin and tan like all the models we see in magazines, billboards, and on T.V.
We are told that that is pretty. We need to be that kind of beautiful and that is they way to get guys to like you. That is not true!!
We are all beautiful in our own way. We are all Daughters of God. We are all unique in our own ways that is what makes us beautiful. Life would be boring if everyone looked and acted the same.
I have struggled with this all my life just as most girls have. Jr. high and high school was the worst. But I got to college and had the most wonderful roommates who taught me to love me for me, by body included. I don’t have to look like I came out of a magazine to be beautiful and worth something.
One of my roommates told me that “one day I would find a man who loved everything about me including the thinks I didn’t like”. The one’s that you think about every time you look in the mirror. She was right! I did find that man and whenever I say anything about my thighs being too big or I feel fat. He always tells me I am beautiful and helps me see myself through his eyes which I know is helping me see me through Christ’s eyes.
Everyone has days they are down on themselves and don’t feel good about what they see on the mirror. On those days I think about what my Heavenly Father sees and not what I see.

Vet Tech stuff

I thought I would show you some pictures that I have about what I do. Because I love animals. Some of these are from work, school, Hogle Zoo or The Living Planet Aquarium or just random.

Shoots and Suds that my school puts on.

These next two are from my internship at a Veterinary Clinic that I later got a job at :)

One of my favorite Dogs.

These are from my Anatomy II class. This was the cat cadaver that we got to dissect. Mine was pregnant.

The animals come from a shelter and are not euthanized for the class. They are animals that are to mean to be adopted or are way sick so they are euthanized.

These two are from my Radiology class. We got to learn how to take x-rays of horses legs and hoofs.

This one is also from my Radiology class too.
                                                    I love the zoo!!!!

A kitty from school.

Shelet animals are brought to the school each week and we learn how to take care of them.
They get vaccines, blood tests, ear cleaning, surgery if they need it and etc... also tons of attention and love.
ZOO!!!!!!

Me in my Lab Animals, Exotics and Pocket Pets class holding a rat named Sissy. This is the picture I sent my husband asking if I could keep her.  After some convincing  I adopted her and took her home :)

Spring Break

Last week for spring break I went down to St. George with my husband Chris and his cousin Matt and wife Katie. We went down for the Grand Chick-Fill-A opening. If you stay in the parking lot for 24 hrs you get 52 free combo meals. It is only the first 100 though. If more than 100 show up than they have a  raffle. There were A LOT more than 100 that showed up so they had a raffle. All four of us barely made it in. Matt was number 98.

So we set up a tent and stayed all day in the Chick-Fill-A parking lot. It was a lot of fun. This was the 2nd on of these I have been to. Matt on the other hand it was like his 6th one. It was way warm and I got sunburned. It was only on one side though from playing four-square all day.
After that Chris and I headed over to Zion National Park. One of my favorite places EVER!!!! We climbed Angels Landing. I have done it four time but it this  was Chris’ first time. He was so excited!! Every time we stopped he had to look over the edge and get excited. There are chains along the path so that you can hold onto them since the path gets close to the edge and you are 1,148 feet off the ground. Chris made a point to not use any of them. We go canyoneering so we are us to doing similar things without the chain to hold onto.

When we got to the top we stopped for a minute and had a snack while talking to some of the other people up there.  Chris had them all laughing from doing his Gollume voice from Lord of the Rings. Then we all did a Harlem Shake on the top of Angel Landing. Some guys had brought a Go Pro and wanted to do a Harlem Shake on the top. (when he uploads the video to YouTube I will put a link)

After Angles landing we were going to do another hike but we were both fried from our sunburns (the sun takes a lot out of you) and tired from sleeping in a parking lot so we headed home early. It was a good thing to. Chris was tried and the 5 hr drive home was hard. We had to stop a lot since our little car doesn’t have a very big CNG tank. But it was easy for me I slept the whole way home.
